Welcome to St. Bernadette Parish
I give you a hearty welcome to the new parish and the new website of St. Bernadette’s Parish. We were founded in 2012 on the sturdy pillars of two great and historic parishes in the Flint section of Fall River, Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception and Notre Dame de Lourdes Parishes. St. Bernadette’s was a fitting “daughter” parish of their union, since when Our Lady appeared in Lourdes, France in 1858 to the 14 year old St. Bernadette Soubirous, she revealed herself with the words, “I am the Immaculate Conception.”
Our Lady asked St. Bernadette to go to the priests of Lourdes and have a chapel built to her in the Grotto of Massabielle. With similar confidence, we are now turning to St. Bernadette and asking her intercession as together we strive to build a thriving parish made out of “living stones,” men and women, boys and girls who build their lives on Christ the Cornerstone.
If you’re in the Fall River area, I invite you to come by and to consider joining us in this spiritual building project! If you’re surfing the web and have providentially discovered our site, I hope that the various resources available to you here help you in responding to love that God has for you and discovering how he wants you to live in that love and share it.
In her private notes, St. Bernadette wrote, “Jesus, my God, I love you above all things” St. Bernadette’s Parish exists so that, through her intercession, we may all grow to love the Lord in the same way!
